Wasted energy is costing UK households an average of £365 per year
This is according to research carried out by Professor Martin Crowder of Imperial College London into a ComRes survey researching energy wastage, on behalf of Logicor Ltd.
On average the Green Plug reduces electricity consumption on appliances by 41% and up to 92% on some appliances.
This is the finding of a second report carried out in January 2011 by Professor Martin Crowder of Imperial College London into Green Plug trials on 415 UK household appliances in 64 homes.
Installing the Green Plug on electrical appliances in your home could save you up to £200 per year on your energy bills.
Take a closer look at those ten appliances trialled to see what savings you could make on your energy bills and on your CO2 emissions.

Energy Saving Trust Verified
The Energy Saving Trust has produced a number of saving statements to illustrate the affect that Green Plug devices have within the home upon our energy bills and CO2 footprint.
By using comparative examples it allows consumers to visualise a usually abstract concept such as CO2 emissions into something more tangible.
Did you know that printers use energy even when they aren't printing?
This wasted energy stacks up whilst you work from home. The Green Plug cuts the waste and could save you around 630gCO2 if you work at home once a week for a year, that's enough to fill a wheelie bin.
How much could the UK save?
If Green Plugs were used on the ten appliances tested in every UK household it would mean that for the UK as a whole...
We could save over 5000GWh of electricity per year.*
This is equivalent to reducing the energy needed from coal fired power stations by at least 4.72%.*
The average CO2 saving per household is almost 104kg CO2 per year. This equates to a saving of over 2.7 Billion kg CO2 emissions per year for the UK.*
If we fitted Green Plugs to more appliances than the ten tested in our trials the savings would be even greater.
